It was great as usual

Value for money, facilities it was great! I’ve stayed 6 times already!

Some of the staff were not that friendly as usual, the buffet was poorly, in previous visits they had scrambled eggs, chilaquiles and more Mexican food options, this time the Buffett was very poor

Very comfortable place to stay in a hidden gem along the Mayan riviera.

The gym is nice, the food is well prepared and always easy to get to. Very friendly staff

The room did not come with conditioner, just shampoo which was odd. The beach is rocky but that is to be expected in puerto adventuras. The beach setup at this club is well thought out. A lap pool would have been a nice addition.

Beautiful setting,well kept grounds and lovely sea/beach

Booking the restaurants was not easy and the buffet food in the evening wasn’t great,especially for kids ,most hotels we have been to have kids section

The only let down is the food gets repetitive and not much choice for kids in the evening,the other restaurants were difficult to book in so we ate at the marina

Definitely Vakue for money though not a 5 star experience..

1. Location which is right on beach 2. The buffet restaurants , La Brissa and Le Mericado had plenty of varieties for breakfast, lunch and dinner..This will be your savior in case tou dont get reservations in the A la carte restaurants.. 3. Guest concierge team was very helpful 4. The A la carte restaurant , Ayami was good and though it had to booked sharp at 8 am in the morning, still we loved the Hibachi and sushis.. 5. There is a separate space for privilege members and a pool bar which was really nice and comparatively lesser crowd..But you have to book the privilege rooms to get this facility.. This is worth the money.. 6. Snorkeling is a great experience especially on the private area for privilege members.. 45 mins of free snorkeling provided in the all inclusive package..worth it.. 7. Entertainment options are nice especially the Moana show, it was spectacular.. 8. On site doctor available which we used for our kid.. it is expensive though(320$ with medicines) 9. Overall value for money..

1 A la carte restaurants were difficult to book. Once we checked in, we were asked to register inline and book based on the availability of the next few days.. The availability was extremely limited. 2. Room service food option was limited 3. Communicating with room service was difficult at times because of language barrier.Once I asked for a scissor to cut open the wrist band which my kid got from the Tulum tour. Because it was too tight and uncomfortable..They failed to understand the request for long and it took almost 2 hours for them to send someone and cut it open..Front desk had scissors and these kind of emergencies should be dealt with more swiftness.. 4. Many shops and water sports area ( pro dive) inside the resort might charge you in pesos which might have a high exchange rate thereby you paying more in dollars.. Try to pay either in cash or ask them if the payment machine accepts dollar payments.. else every time you will be paying more in dollars.. Would have been better if the sellers clarified this upfront..

What was the highlight of Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort

Beautiful & fun resort, but still needs some improvements.

The resort was fairly clean, and organized. The beaches were nice, as you got to enjoy the resort next doors beach as well. There were a lot of activities to keep you occupied, which is a great fit for families. This resort is also located inside of a mini village so there are also many other activities to do outside of the resort such as a marina, golf course, other stores and restaurants, and parks. The food was above average, there are many restaurants, a snack bar, and a smoothie bar. The drinks are great, but very limited to what they can make for you. This resort also had one of the best spas I have ever been to , and added a great addition to our stay. Overall, this was a great resort to bring family, and enjoy a nice getaway.

There were just a few things we didn't enjoy here, and the main thing was making dinner reservations to the many different restaurants there on the resort. The issue was that you had to book them online at 8 am, and as soon as you would get the slot to book would quickly fill up. We stayed here for 4 days, and was only able to book one restaurant out of our entire stay. Another thing that we didn't enjoy was that my now fiancee proposed here, and he explained that it was a little difficult to arrange the proposal because he had a difficult time reaching out to them about the arrangements. So, if you don't want to wait until the day before the special event to actually see how everything is set up, maybe choose a different option for special events. Lastly, we tried to upgrade to privilege, and was not able to due to the resort overbooking. This resulted in guests not being about to enjoy certain upgrades on the resort, and leaving some people without the space to sit in certain places like the pools.

Nice hotel with rude reception staff

We really enjoyed our stay, the grounds were beautiful and so was the beach (we didn’t mind the reef around, actually we enjoyed it). The food in the buffet and BLoved was surprisingly great and so were the drinks. Everyone at the restaurants, bars, cleaning service was so nice. Overall we had a lovely stay and liked the hotel, EXCEPT the reception staff, which I have never in my life encountered so rude, lacking client service approach and disrespectful.

Reception staff. Especially the ladies - they were very rude, short, it even looked like they enjoyed not providing us with information - smirking at each other when answering our questions. Our room was not ready upon check in at 3pm (despite us upgrading to Privileged which even comes with earlier check in), and instead of apologizing and perhaps offering a welcome drink, they just told us the hotel is full and we need to wait!? Then they didn't provide any information about the facilities or our benefits, forgot to give us our welcome bag. Then they called our room telling us we need to come back for the welcome bag and when I came back they said that they mixed up the rooms and now they don't have any welcome bags? Things didn't improve on the day of checkout either, plainly rude, not being clear on till what time we can use the facility after check out from the room- the lady said 4pm, which was then clear it was not the case.. I honestly feel like instead of adding to or supporting the stay the reception staff ruined it. The management absolutely need to do something about it, because otherwise the hotel was nice, solid 8-9, but due to the reception chaos and rudeness max 7 overall.

Relaxing resort stay

The resort is well laid out so that you're close to everything regardless of what room you're in. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The resort was full, but it didn't feel overcrowded. We enjoyed the food and the variety of choices.

The room had some minor maintenance issues like the toliet running and the wooden trim being worn in places. If you like a long beach to walk on, this isn't the place to stay, but we knew that from the map we saw prior to booking. The beach that's there is nice and good for swimming.

the resort was a bit smaller than we expected with limited options as to what restuarant refers to, as most theme-based restaurants were only open at night. Also, the bar only served alcohol from 11am onwards which, even though I find this to be a responsible and reasonable choice, makes the "All-included" phrase fall slightly short of reality

Amazing place for the cost. Highly recommend for your next vacation.

The property was great with lots of pool options and great staff and drinks. We got more than expected for the price.

The only issue was the water was not accessible from the beach due to seaweed.

We enjoyed our vacation.

The food was good and the room was comfortable.

The reservations for the special dinner restaurants had to be before 8 a.m. every day. We didn't make it. We had a water leak from the ceiling and it took them a long time to clean it up after it was repaired. This happened the first night.

Very Good

Good option in terms of cost efficiency if you plan to go out during a day for water park or tours. Good to have several big pools and great to have beach for snorkeling and kayaking. There are lots of fish and there is very little wave and the it is pretty swallow & calm to snorkel with kid.

Dinner reservation is very awful. I tried to book a dinner for 4 nights at 8am every morning, but I have not made it successully. I needed to go to the dinner place every night and wait for the dinner to see whether there is any cancelation. Buffet restaurant is always available, but the quality was not good as other restaurants which I need to book. The room condition on the 1st floor was very humid and smelled like moss, so I asked to change the room, but I needed to wait for a night. Second floor was much better the day after, but the first night on 1st floor was very disappointing. The staff’s help to change the room was helpful, but some of the staff at the front desk was very disappointing too. It needs to be improved.

Beach- very good snorkeling area, the rocky areas made for interesting walks and views. Japanese restaurant is very good.

Beach- we initially had trouble finding lounge chairs with an umbrella for shade. We thought there would be more sandy areas. Restaurants that require reservations the process is hard to manage. would have liked to try the Mexican but couldn't get a reservation.

Puerto Aventuras is a fantastic location and so many things to do nearby!!

The property was beautiful to walk through and had lots of pools and amenities- the staff was always working hard to keep everything in tip top shape. The area itself, Puerto Aventuras was amazing and clean and safe and so friendly!!!! Spent a lot of time off resort…

My one biggest complaint was the fact that I needed a reservation for a la carte restaurants and although there was a decent selection of them, the reservations were booked online at 8am sharp every morning and I constantly struggled with the booking system and error messages. Within minutes all spots were taken up. I found it ruined my day first thing in the morning knowing that early that I had no options other than buffet. We paid an upgrade to be a privileged guest and still could not secure reservations. Not having the option to have a la carte made me eat off resort more often making the whole week less valuable. I really despised this system and would shop around next time for this reason only. The neighboring resort did not have this system and guests could choose a la carte at any time.
